Culinary Calendar
Events at the Alte Post
Each season brings its own character – and with it, the ingredients that define it. At the organic gourmet hotel Alte Post Müllheim, in the heart of the Markgräflerland near the Black Forest, we follow this natural rhythm: from spring asparagus to autumn dishes inspired by wild herbs.
Our culinary events are shaped by a conscious approach to enjoyment – rooted in regional organic quality, shared moments and a genuine appreciation for what nature provides.
In the charming wine village of Sulzburg-Laufen, at the foot of the Laufener Altenberg, wineries, farmyards, workshops and artists' studios throw open their doors. Since 1995, "Wein, Essen & LAUFEN" has drawn visitors from near and far to this idyllic village year after year – a true insider's tip for food and wine lovers.
Strolling through the historic lanes, you'll find high-quality food and regional specialities, fine wines straight from the winemakers, and a varied musical programme – from lively brass bands to a bagpiper.
When the historic winegrowers' courtyards in the Schneckental open their gates, Pfaffenweiler celebrates one of the oldest and most popular wine festivals in the region: the Schnecke-Fescht. Since 1977, the Kapellenstraße has transformed into a festive landscape of wine and indulgence.
Enjoy Markgräfler Gutedel, Spätburgunder and Weißburgunder straight from the winemakers, alongside the culinary speciality that gives the festival its name: snails in herb butter and traditional "snail bread". 13 local clubs provide live music, folk costume groups and a lively supporting programme.
Auggen, the largest wine-growing village in the Markgräflerland, celebrates its traditional winegrowers' festival – the 69th edition in 2026, held this year in a more compact three-day format. The Sonnberghalle becomes the hub for excellent wine, music and entertainment.
The highlight is the grand costume and heritage parade on Sunday, when winegrowers from across the region process through the village. Auggen's wineries pour wines from their well-known vineyard sites "Schäf" and "Letten".
This year, our butcher will once again be on site, bringing the richness of traditional autumn cuisine to the table. Look forward to hearty specialties such as Metzelsuppe, fried potatoes, crispy roast pork and freshly pan-seared liver. The selection is complemented by organic chicken from Steingrubenhof as well as carefully prepared vegetarian dishes.
At the heart of the event is not only enjoyment, but also a conscious approach to food, with a strong focus on animal welfare.

Throughout the year, the cuisine is characterised by typical Markgräfler specialities – including asparagus season in spring, light summer dishes featuring regional vegetables, game dishes in autumn, and delightful moments accompanied by Gutedel wine.
